Dogs aren’t that different than people, and think about how many people don’t like being touched. Try experimenting to find kinds of things your dog does like. Play? Sweet voices? Tug? You can also try pairing gentle kinds of touch with treats. Touch your dog in a soft way, and give food at the same moment. Try touching different parts of his body to see if there is one place that he likes, or dislikes, more. Lastly, make sure to get a full work up at the vet. Discomfort about being touch could relate to a physical problem or limitation.
