What you are describing sounds like something that is called Pica. For some dogs this can indicate an underlying medical issue, so the first thing is to be sure you talk to your vet. However, for other dogs, this falls more in the category of an OCD behavior, or sometimes a behavior that a dog has learned overtime gets them lots of attention (regardless of if it is good or bad attention). If medical issues are ruled out, often with Pica, management is going to be your best strategy. This means you will need to start to get very strict about not having any items she may ingest out and in her reach when she is not supervised. There are certainly a number of training exercises that may also help your dog, such as teaching her a solid “Leave It,” and a solid “Drop It,” as well as being sure her “Recall” cue is strong so that you can easily call her away from exciting objects. I would also highly recommend being sure your dog is getting enough physical exercise and mental stimulation! Great indoor mental stimulation can include work to eat bowls and toys, safe chews such as bully sticks, and even tricks training! Included here are a few links that will give you a lot more detail on Pica and other eating disorders in dogs, as well as OCD behaviors in dogs, and things you can do to help:
